How it works: the calculator estimates freezing-point depression from the sugar and alcohol dissolved in the water (ΔTf = 1.86 × molality). Sugar lowers the freeze point gently and builds body; alcohol lowers it sharply, which is why boozy batches need more sugar. The perfect band assumes an actively churning home machine — treat the numbers as a strong starting point, then trust your taste and your machine.
